ZAMFARA, Nigeria – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 275 personnel across Zamfara State to provide security during Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary and the state’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
The deployment covers the state’s 14 local government areas, with personnel assigned to strategic and potentially vulnerable locations, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the NSCDC Zamfara Command’s Public Relations Officer, Umar Muhammad.
Officers have been deployed to locations including the airport, state borders, Trade Fair Complex, recreational centres, motor parks and other public spaces where large numbers of people are expected to gather during the celebrations.
The State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, directed the personnel to maintain discipline and professionalism while sustaining security coverage throughout the anniversary activities.
He also urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and comply with the law during the celebrations.
Mustapha said the deployment was aimed at protecting lives and property, critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as maintaining public order across the state.
He warned that individuals found violating the law during the celebrations would face appropriate legal consequences.
The command said its personnel would remain deployed throughout the anniversary activities to respond to security concerns and support a peaceful celebration.
