ABUJA, Nigeria – Northern governors condemn the Plateau attack, urging calm and stronger collaboration to prevent escalating violence.
Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Monday described the killings as “barbaric” and contrary to regional values.
“The sad development reinforces our commitment to peace and vigilance,” he says after a security review meeting.
The forum calls on residents to avoid reprisals and work with security agencies to maintain stability.
Yahaya commends Caleb Mutfwang for imposing a curfew and deploying security forces swiftly.
“These timely measures are critical in preventing further breakdown of law and order,” he adds.
Governors reaffirm support for security agencies and pledge stronger regional cooperation to tackle violence and criminality.
