ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) launches a nationwide general aptitude test for more than 20,000 applicants seeking enlistment into the 2025 Basic Military Training Course, BMTC 46.
The aptitude test, a key phase in the recruitment process, begins on Saturday and runs simultaneously across 15 centres nationwide, reflecting the Air Force’s commitment to transparency, fairness and equal opportunity.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, says the wide geographical spread of centres ensures inclusiveness and allows qualified Nigerians from all regions to compete on a level playing field.
“This approach demonstrates our dedication to a merit-based recruitment system that gives every eligible applicant a fair chance,” Ejodame says.
Test centres are located in Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt and Ikeja.
Ejodame notes that the high turnout reflects sustained confidence among Nigerian youths in the Air Force as a disciplined and professional institution critical to national defence and internal security.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, says the recruitment process strictly follows established standards anchored on integrity and competence. “The quality of our personnel remains fundamental to operational effectiveness and the successful execution of our constitutional mandate,” Aneke says.
He adds that the aptitude test marks a crucial step towards building a motivated, mission-ready force, while reaffirming the NAF’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property nationwide.
