ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Ministry of Education has confirmed that the 69th National Council on Education (NCE) will be held in Akure, Ondo State, from 3–7 November.
The meeting, themed “Quality Education, Data and Professionalisation of Teaching,” will gather national stakeholders to assess education reforms and develop strategies to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
In a statement issued on the Ministry’s official X account on Monday, officials said the forum will address digital learning, data-driven policy, and the professionalisation of teaching. “The 69th NCE provides a unique platform for stakeholders to collectively develop actionable policies that will transform Nigeria’s education landscape,” the Ministry said.
The Ondo State Government has pledged its readiness to host the event and confirmed that facilities are in place to accommodate delegates nationwide.

Officials say the resolutions will guide reforms aimed at raising teaching standards, modernising curriculum and improving education measurement systems.
The Ministry stressed that the Council’s work is critical to aligning Nigeria with global benchmarks for quality education.
