NASRDA Director-General, Matthew Adepoju receives GovTech Award for digital innovation in Abuja.
ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has been honoured for excellence in digital innovation and e-governance, reinforcing its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.
At the Nigeria GovTech Gala and Awards held in Abuja on Friday, NASRDA received the “Best Federal MDA in Digital Governance Award”, while its Director-General, Dr Matthew Adepoju, was named “Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer.”
Dr Adepoju, addressing attendees, said the recognition reflects growing national appreciation of space technology’s role in development. “We have introduced several initiatives that are transforming Nigeria’s digital and space science landscape,” he stated.
He noted that NASRDA’s digital efforts align with the Federal Government’s modernisation agenda, aimed at using innovation to enhance governance, efficiency, and transparency.
Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mrs Esuabana Nko-Asanye, Science and Technology, commended NASRDA’s achievements and reaffirmed the ministry’s support for a digitally driven public service.
Organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), the GovTech Gala celebrated public agencies and private partners driving Nigeria’s e-governance transformation.
The event underscored Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery, with NASRDA emerging as a leading force in the nation’s digital evolution.
