ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) confirms that its C-130 aircraft safely resumes its journey after making a precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, earlier in the day.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, says the aircraft departs Burkina Faso in the evening and lands safely in Accra, Ghana, in line with an updated flight plan.
According to the statement, the aircraft is now preparing for onward movement to Portugal via Banjul and Casablanca, where it is scheduled to undergo routine depot maintenance.
Ejodame assures that all personnel on board remain safe throughout the incident and stresses that the aircraft remains fully serviceable.
“The Nigerian Air Force appreciates the concern and support expressed by members of the public and assures Nigerians that all personnel are safe, the aircraft is serviceable, and the Service continues to operate at the highest standards of safety and professionalism,” the statement says.
The NAF explains that precautionary landings are standard aviation safety measures designed to prevent risks and ensure operational integrity, particularly during long-haul flights.
The Service reiterates its commitment to safety, professionalism and strict adherence to international aviation best practices.
