Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi
LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government warns motorists against fake vehicle documentation, citing rising fraud across the state.
Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi says unauthorised agents are issuing invalid roadworthiness certificates and documents.
“Motorists must desist from patronising unauthorised individuals,” he warns.
The ministry stresses that vehicle documentation is strictly handled by approved agencies, adding that fake papers compromise safety and violate the law.
Osiyemi confirms increased enforcement with security agencies. “Anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law,” he says.
Residents are urged to verify service providers and report suspicious activities.
The warning forms part of broader efforts to strengthen road safety and protect the integrity of Lagos’ transport system.
