LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government accelerates digital education reform by distributing smart tablets to public school students.
Announced in Lagos, the initiative aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda and national education goals under Bola Tinubu.
“We are enabling access and opportunity for every child,” Sanwo-Olu says.
The devices, powered by Roducate and Liv.ing platforms, provide curriculum-based lessons, videos and assessments, alongside core textbooks.
Education Commissioner Jamiu Alli-Balogun says the programme has evolved from a pandemic response into a structured reform.
“Our goal is to ensure students thrive in the 21st century,” he says.
Over 600,000 students are expected to benefit, with early data showing improved exam performance.
Officials say the initiative aims to bridge inequality and position Lagos as a leader in education innovation.
