Kwara Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq
ILORIN, Nigeria – Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq declares that terrorists, kidnappers and illegal miners now have “no hiding place” as his administration deploys more than 1,000 newly trained Forest Guards across the state’s vast forest corridors.
Speaking at the passing-out parade in Ilorin, the governor says the deployment marks a decisive shift from defensive policing to an offensive security strategy aimed at reclaiming ungoverned spaces exploited by criminal groups.
“Today opens a new page in our campaign against terrorism, kidnapping and opportunist attacks on our people,” AbdulRazaq says. “The message is very clear: terrorists must leave our state immediately or pay a heavy price.”
Describing peace as “non-negotiable”, AbdulRazaq warns that anyone undermining public safety will face decisive action. “Our people deserve peace as freeborn citizens. We have had enough. Anyone who acts otherwise is an enemy who will not be spared,” he says.
The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Office of the National Security Adviser for policy backing, noting that federal support has strengthened Kwara’s capacity to confront emerging security threats.
He urges residents to cooperate with the guards and security agencies by sharing credible intelligence. “Working with gallant officers of our security forces, you must flush out terrorists, restore sanity in our forests and keep our communities safer than ever,” AbdulRazaq tells the guards.
