
KANO, Nigeria – The Kano State Police Command has arrested two-armed robbery suspects and recovered illicit drugs valued at N42.9 million in coordinated operations.
Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa in a statement on Thursday confirmed the arrest of 20-year-old Nura Sani of Bauchi and 35-year-old Ibrahim Lawan of Katsina.
The suspects allegedly robbed a residence in Tokarawa Quarters on September 14, stealing a Mercedes Benz GLK worth N26.5 million and valuables.
“In a related operation, officers intercepted 540 packets of suspected Pregabalin capsules worth N40.5 million in Jalli Village, Dawakin Tofa LGA,” Kiyawa said. He added that surveillance teams also seized 2,450 bottles of Akuskura, worth N2.45 million, from two suspects at Dangauro Trailer Park.
Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised officers for professionalism and urged residents to support security agencies. He confirmed suspects linked to over N120 million worth of seized Tramadol, Pregabalin, and Cannabis Sativa were handed to the NDLEA Kano Command.
“The command remains committed to dismantling criminal networks in Kano,” Bakori said.
