KANO, Nigeria – Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf approves a comprehensive welfare package for the father of a woman and her six children murdered in Chiranci Dorayi, pledging housing, pilgrimage sponsorship and lifelong government support.
The governor announced the intervention on Wednesday during a condolence visit, describing the killings as one of the most painful tragedies in the state’s recent history.
“This loss has shaken the conscience of Kano,” Yusuf says. “No father should endure such pain without support.”
The murder of the family of seven last Saturday triggers public outrage and renews concerns over domestic violence and community security. Security agencies arrest three suspects, now under investigation.
In a statement, the governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa says the government will provide a new house, welfare support, and sponsorship for Hajj and Umrah.
Governor Yusuf also directs the Attorney General to fast-track prosecution.
“Justice will be served, and delays will not be tolerated,” he says, adding that he will sign death warrants once courts conclude lawful processes.
In an emotional gesture, the bereaved father donates his personal house to the state for the construction of an Islamiyya school.
