Kano Governor Seeks Federal Air Support After Second Singer Market Fire

KANO, Nigeria – Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf urges urgent federal intervention after a second fire outbreak ravages Singer Market, highlighting gaps in firefighting capacity.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf arrives at the Gidan Gilas section of Singer Market on Saturday evening as flames destroy shops and goods. He calls on the Federal Government to provide modern firefighting equipment, including air support, to prevent repeat disasters.

“This intervention will enhance the operational capacity of our fire services and minimise destruction,” Yusuf says, commending state firefighters and security agencies battling the blaze. He urges traders and residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency responders.

Singer Market, a major commercial hub in Kano, records its second fire incident, renewing concerns over emergency preparedness in crowded trading centres.
