Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani
KADUNA, Nigeria – The Kaduna State Government is calling on health workers to strengthen professionalism and improve service delivery as the administration continues its major investment drive in the healthcare sector.
Addressing health secretaries, union leaders and senior officials on Monday, the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Bello Jamoh, said the state expects measurable improvements in patient care following upgrades to facilities, equipment procurement, expanded staffing, and a revised wage structure.
“To whom much is given, much is expected,” Jamoh said. “The government has prioritised health workers’ welfare. In return, we must demonstrate empathy, efficiency and discipline in service to the public.”
The Chairman of the Association of Health Secretaries across the 23 Local Government Areas, Yahuza Muhammad, commended the reforms and pledged full support for the state’s agenda.
Similarly, the Kaduna Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Umar Fatika, described the salary review for health workers as “historic,” saying morale and job satisfaction have significantly improved.
“Health workers in Kaduna have never had it this good,” he noted. “This support has revived our commitment to quality healthcare delivery.”
The call for renewed dedication comes as the Uba Sani administration continues its push to strengthen the state’s primary healthcare system and expand community health access.
