Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani
KADUNA, Nigeria – Kaduna State positions itself for an agribusiness surge as Governor Uba Sani highlights the economic potential of a $200 million Mega Poultry Project.
The governor says the initiative is projected to generate more than $450 million in annual revenue and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs, strengthening food security and supporting local farmers.
He spoke during a strategic meeting on Thursday with the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhar Maiha, aimed at aligning federal and state strategies ahead of the project’s official launch.
Governor Sani thanked President Bola Tinubu for selecting Kaduna to host the landmark project, describing it as a major boost to Nigeria’s agricultural transformation agenda.
Reflecting on his December 7, 2025 visit to China, the governor recounts touring CP Foods Layers and Eggs facility in Beijing, which produces nearly three million eggs daily.
“That visit was a defining step toward concluding our $200 million poultry project,” he says.
Sani explains that the Kaduna project will replicate global best practices in production, processing, packaging and distribution through partnerships with Chinese investors.
“In collaboration with our partners, this initiative will deepen food security, broaden our agro-industrial base and create durable employment,” he says.

Officials say the project will also position Kaduna as a continental hub for technology-driven agribusiness, with spillover benefits for feed production, logistics and rural incomes.
