ABUJA, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked reports alleging the suspension of a candidate’s account, calling the claims deliberate misinformation by “conflict entrepreneurs.”
Public Communication Adviser, JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Sunday clarified that the controversy involving candidate Monsuru Aliat Aduragbemi was based on “distorted facts meant to mislead the public.”
He explained that a subsisting court order barred any alteration of the candidate’s admission record with the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
“The restriction on her profile is a system safeguard, not a punishment,” Benjamin said, adding it ensures compliance with judicial directives.
JAMB said both institutions’ admission processes remain on hold to maintain the status quo ordered by the court.
“The Board will not allow any modification until the case concludes,” Benjamin affirmed. He cautioned the public against spreading falsehoods designed to provoke controversy.
