JAMB Clarifies: Previously Uploaded O’Level Results Remain Valid

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results on its portal do not need to re-upload the results or obtain a verification code following the introduction of the Board’s new verification process.
The clarification comes after JAMB said it received numerous complaints from candidates who were uncertain whether the new verification arrangement required them to repeat the upload process.
In a statement on Thursday, JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the new verification system does not invalidate results already uploaded through the existing process.
According to the Board, candidates who uploaded their O’Level results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, or in previous admission cycles are not required to take any further action.
“All O’Level results uploaded through the old process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on the Board’s platform,” the statement said.
JAMB explained that the new verification process was introduced solely to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results submitted for admission and prevent the use of falsified credentials.
The Board noted that results already on its portal would remain available for admission consideration and would undergo verification by tertiary institutions where necessary.
It, therefore, urged candidates not to panic or incur unnecessary expenses by attempting to re-upload their results because of the new verification arrangement.
JAMB assured candidates that previously uploaded results remain valid and would continue to be recognised throughout the admission process, subject to verification by the admitting institutions.
