LAGOS, Nigeria – A fire outbreak destroys 24 shops in a storey shopping complex near Ikotun Roundabout, Lagos, causing losses worth millions of naira.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service say it receives a distress call at 12:22 a.m. on Wednesday and arrives within 10 minutes.
Controller-General Margret Adeseye says the fire severely damages shops and their contents, including electronics. “The fire is successfully extinguished with no casualties recorded,” Adeseye states, adding that an electrical surge is the suspected cause.
