ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Government launches a digital records and workflow system at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, marking a major step in civil service reform.
Speaking at the launch, on Wednesday, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, described the initiative as a critical step in repositioning the ministry for faster and more transparent service delivery. She said the new system would improve institutional memory, enhance coordination across departments and support evidence-based decision-making.
“This platform will allow us to work smarter, respond faster and serve the public better by ensuring that information is properly managed and easily accessible,” the minister said.
The digital upgrade forms part of the Federal Government’s broader public sector reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises technology-driven governance and improved service delivery across ministries, departments and agencies.
Also speaking at the event, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, said the adoption of modern content management tools was essential for building a professional and future-ready civil service. She noted that digitisation would help curb inefficiencies, enhance transparency and preserve official records.
