ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four suspects involved in a one-chance robbery and attempted kidnapping, rescuing two victims in the operation.
Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the arrests in a statement on Sunday, saying the suspects were captured following a distress call and a swift police response.
She said the incident occurred on October 8, 2025, around 10:09 p.m., when one Hajara Ali reported at the Life Camp Police Station that her sister, Comfort Habila, had called in distress after being abducted by criminals demanding ₦1 million ransom.
“Operatives from the Life Camp Division, using digital and tactical intelligence, tracked the suspects to Dape Village and arrested them around 4:30 a.m. on October 9 after a confrontation,” Adeh stated.
The victims, Comfort Habila and Aliyu Adams, were rescued during the operation. Adams, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was taken to Gwarinpa General Hospital for treatment.
Those arrested are Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph, and Emmanuel Chidiebere.
Adeh added that investigations revealed the suspects had been involved in multiple one-chance robberies around Bannex and Kado, using a vehicle with tinted windows to deceive and rob passengers.
“The Commissioner of Police has reiterated the command’s commitment to rid the FCT of criminal elements through intelligence-led policing,” she said.
