Former Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami
KEBBI, Nigeria – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for questioning.
The development was confirmed on Friday via Malami’s verified Facebook page, where he pledged full cooperation with investigators.
Malami, who served as Attorney-General from 2015 to 2023 under former President Muhammadu Buhari, oversaw the EFCC during his tenure. The Commission has not disclosed the specific issues under investigation.
Reaffirming his readiness to comply, Malami said, “I am committed to accountability and transparency in public service and will fully cooperate with the EFCC.”
He added that updates on his engagement with the anti-graft agency would be shared subsequently.
Malami, now contesting the governorship of Kebbi State, is expected to appear before EFCC officials in the coming days as investigations continue.
