ABUJA, Nigeria – The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has launched the African Manufacturing Market Intelligence & Network Analysis (AMMINA) platform to accelerate Africa’s health independence and industrial growth.
The platform, unveiled in Accra, Ghana, is designed to provide data-driven insights for investors, policymakers, and manufacturers to strengthen health product production across the continent.
“AMMINA marks a bold stride toward providing high-quality, reliable, and accessible data to our Member States and partners,” said Dr Jean Kaseya, Director-General of Africa CDC.
Developed with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, AMMINA maps over 700 manufacturers and 2,500 health products across 18 African Union (AU) Member States, with plans to expand to all 55.
The initiative coincided with the African Healthcare Manufacturing Trade Exhibition and Conference (AHMTEC), underscoring Africa CDC’s push for health sovereignty and sustainable production.
“Together with AU institutions and partners, we will ensure AMMINA becomes a key instrument to unlock Africa’s manufacturing potential and secure its health future,” Africa CDC said.
