The cases are prosecuted at the Federal High Court in Abuja, with over 500 suspects arraigned under the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act.
Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi says the trials, conducted by 10 judges, reflect commitment to due process, including acquittals where appropriate.
“Transparent legal processes are critical in confronting extremism,” the U.S. statement adds.
The ninth phase of trials concludes in April, with the next phase scheduled for June.
The development comes amid global scrutiny of Nigeria’s security situation, with authorities emphasising rule of law as central to long-term stability.
