Senator Akpabio, representing the president
LAGOS, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissions major infrastructure projects in Lagos, declaring that development must be tangible and directly improve citizens’ lives.
Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday, Tinubu says the projects reflect purposeful governance and a commitment to sustainable urban growth.
“These projects are not just physical structures; they reflect a government that understands that development must be seen, felt, and experienced by the people,” he says, adding that Lagos remains a model for national progress.
Key projects include the 5.04-kilometre Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building, and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex.
Tinubu emphasises that improved infrastructure drives economic productivity.
“When traffic improves, productivity increases. When time is saved, businesses grow, and life becomes easier for the people,” he says.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the projects align with practical governance and long-term sustainability goals.
“At its most effective, governance is about building institutions, systems, and opportunities for people to thrive,” Sanwo-Olu says.
Officials say the new bridge will ease congestion along key corridors, while digital land systems and improved administrative coordination are expected to enhance service delivery.
