ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has enhanced maritime anti-drug operations by sending officers to the North Sea and Channel Maritime Information Group conference in the United Kingdom.
Buba Marwa on Friday said Nigeria was the only African nation in attendance, highlighting the agency’s rising global profile. Officers engaged with the UK Border Force, gaining exposure to advanced interdiction methods and intelligence systems.
Deputy Commander Aminu Jega explained that the conference enhanced joint intelligence efforts to combat drug trafficking along Nigeria’s waterways. The experience is expected to strengthen NDLEA’s capacity for intelligence-led maritime operations.
