LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government disburses ₦701 million to families of deceased public servants, reinforcing its commitment to worker welfare.
At a ceremony in Ikeja, Finance Commissioner Abayomi Oluyomi said the выплат reflects compassionate governance under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“Staff welfare is not just a policy—it is something we see and feel in practical ways,” he says.
A total of 232 families receive benefits, some up to ₦15 million, under the state’s insurance scheme coordinated with LASACO Assurance.
Oluyomi describes the moment as both solemn and significant. “No amount of money can replace your loved ones, but this support ensures families are not left alone,” he adds.
Permanent Secretary Mahmud Alao calls the выплаты a “moral commitment” beyond statutory obligation.
Beneficiaries are urged to use the funds prudently for education, business and stability.
The initiative underscores Lagos’ broader strategy to strengthen social protection and maintain trust in public service.
