KANO, Nigeria – The Kano State Government is condemning the killing of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, describing the incident as a crime against humanity that demands swift justice.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, says the state receives the news with shock and profound grief.
“This heinous and inhuman act is a grave affront to humanity and the rule of law,” Maude says.
He discloses that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed the Ministry of Justice to take over the prosecution to ensure accountability and strict adherence to due process.
“Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done,” he adds.

The attorney general commends the Kano State Police Command for what he describes as a swift and professional response that leads to the arrest of suspects linked to the killings.
Authorities assure residents that the government will pursue the case transparently and relentlessly, amid widespread outrage and mourning across the state.
Maude urges the public to remain calm and law-abiding, calling on residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist investigations.
He says the Ministry of Justice will keep the public informed as legal proceedings progress.
