LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government has launched a full investigation, including autopsy, into the deaths of nine-month-old twins, Testimony and Timothy Alozie, who died shortly after routine immunisations at Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre.
The infants were vaccinated on December 24, 2025, and developed severe complications, passing away on December 25. Their father, Samuel Alozie, described the rapid health decline in a viral social media video, calling for transparency and justice.
The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB) on Friday confirmed clinical and toxicology tests are ongoing at LASUTH to establish the exact cause. Dr Ibrahim Mustafa, Permanent Secretary, reassured the public:
“The same vaccine batch was administered to other children without incident. We urge calm while investigations proceed.”
Authorities stressed that the investigation would adhere to safety standards, while the family called for independent oversight to ensure impartiality. The results of the autopsy and toxicology tests are expected within days, with the government pledging full transparency.
This tragedy has reignited public concerns about vaccine safety, emphasising the importance of strict clinical monitoring and timely reporting of adverse events.
