KADUNA, Nigeria – The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Friday handed over minibuses and motorcycles to Local Government Area (LGA) Heads of Departments (HODs) and Zonal Officers.
The Director of the Northwest Zonal Office of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), alongside the Director of Quality Assurance at Kaduna SUBEB, presided over the event, presenting the vehicles to the beneficiaries in the presence of key education stakeholders.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between UBEC and Kaduna SUBEB, aimed at addressing longstanding challenges related to mobility for field officers. The provision of these vehicles is expected to enhance the ability of LGA HODs and Zonal Officers to conduct regular school inspections, monitor teaching and learning activities, and ensure effective implementation of basic education programmes across the state.
“Effective supervision depends on access,” he says. “With these vehicles, officers can reach schools regularly, respond faster to challenges, and ensure standards are upheld.”
The Director of Quality Assurance at Kaduna SUBEB adds that poor transportation has limited field officers’ performance for years.
“This support removes a critical bottleneck. Better mobility translates directly into better monitoring and improved learning outcomes for children,” she notes.
