ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has directed all accredited tertiary institutions to upload comprehensive student data on the Student Verification Portal ahead of the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Fund said the directive would enable a smooth verification and loan processing system once the Education Loan Portal opens.
“Tertiary institutions are critical partners in ensuring that all eligible students access the scheme without difficulty,” NELFUND stated on Thursday.
According to the Fund, only students whose details are uploaded and verified will qualify for financial aid.
Institutions were urged to designate officers to manage the process and ensure data accuracy using admission numbers or other verifiable identifiers.
“The partnership between NELFUND and tertiary institutions ensures no eligible student is left behind,” the statement added.
