ABUJA, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to 2025 until November 30, 2026, to accept or reject the offers on its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
The Board announced the extension on Wednesday, saying the decision followed the temporary unavailability of CAPS for about 96 hours and would give affected candidates a final opportunity to update their admission records.
JAMB had previously set September 30 as the deadline for candidates with outstanding offers from the 2021–2025 admission exercises. It warned that November 30 would be the final deadline for candidates in this category to indicate whether they wanted to accept or reject their outstanding offers.
Candidates who fail to act by the deadline will no longer be permitted to accept or reject the offers within the current window, while subsequent requests will attract the applicable penalty fee.
Candidates who accept their outstanding offers will be able to print their admission letters, while those who reject them will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted”.
The Board said the changes would help ensure that its national admission database accurately reflects candidates’ current admission status.
Candidates who are no longer studying at the institution where an old admission was offered, or who are pursuing a different programme, may accept the outstanding admission and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion where applicable.
Similarly, candidates currently pursuing a second degree but holding an unaccepted admission from an earlier year may reject the old offer and continue with their current programme.
JAMB also reassured candidates who have received admission in the 2026 exercise but still have an outstanding offer from an earlier year that rejecting the old offer would not affect their 2026 admission.
