LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigeria is set to open its first Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, on October 10, to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
Developed in partnership with UK-based Transforming Mind Solutions, the centre will offer non-invasive, drug-free therapy for patients suffering from depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.
“This marks a turning point for mental health in Nigeria,” said Dr. Olufemi Oluwatayo, Consultant Psychiatrist and CEO of the centre. “TMS restores hope for those failed by conventional treatments.”
Professor Alex O’Neill-Kerr, Medical Director at Transforming Mind Solutions, added:
“TMS provides safe, evidence-based care that will change countless lives.”
Founder Richard Williams called the centre a “defining moment” for mental healthcare in Africa.
The facility will also serve as the company’s first international hub, positioning Nigeria as a leader in modern mental health innovation.
