ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Government has delivered a digital monitoring dashboard to the Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT UBEB) in a move aimed at strengthening school supervision, accountability and evidence-based decision-making across Nigeria’s basic education sector.
The Monitoring Smart Boards Dashboard, powered by the Nigerian Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI), was officially handed over in Abuja on Tuesday as part of efforts to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Implemented by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, the platform is designed to provide real-time access to school performance and operational data.
Representing the Minister of Education, Director of Information and Communication Technology, Zainab Abukur, described the deployment as a major milestone in modernising education governance.
“This is a key step in translating the Renewed Hope Agenda into practical improvements in education governance,” she said.
According to Abukur, the dashboard will reduce dependence on routine physical inspections by allowing administrators to remotely monitor schools and access accurate, up-to-date information for policy and operational decisions.
“This will ensure faster, more informed and evidence-based decision-making.”
