ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu, on friday appoints Thairu Yunusa as Chief Medical Director of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, signalling renewed focus on healthcare delivery.
The appointment is conveyed by Health Minister Ali Pate, with Yunusa formally assuming office after a handover from Bob Ukonu.
“I pledge to improve service delivery in line with national health priorities,” Yunusa says, calling for staff collaboration.
A seasoned clinician, Yunusa previously led COVID-19 response efforts in the FCT, overseeing isolation centres and managing over 600 cases with low mortality.
