ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and National Orientation Agency (NOA) deepen collaboration to expand health insurance access and accelerate Universal Health Coverage across Nigeria.
During a high-level meeting, NHIA Director-General, Kelechi Ohiri, outlines reforms improving healthcare delivery, including revised tariffs, expanded benefits, and a new pre-authorisation system.
“We are enhancing quality of care and reducing financial barriers, especially for vulnerable populations,” Ohiri says.
He reveals over 40,000 women benefit from targeted programmes addressing maternal health risks and fistula care.
NOA Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu, pledges nationwide awareness campaigns.
“Health insurance is vital to improving lives, and we will amplify public understanding,” he states.
Both agencies agree to formalise strategies leveraging NOA’s grassroots network to boost enrolment and public trust.
