ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has warned members of the public about a fraudulent admission invitation letter allegedly issued to an individual identified as Abubakar Washima.
In a statement shared on its official X handle on Saturday, the academy said the letter did not originate from the institution and should be disregarded.
“The Nigerian Defence Academy wishes to inform the general public that the purported invitation letter addressed to one Abubakar Washima, claiming he was selected for admission into the NDA, is fake,” the statement said.
According to the academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Reuben Kovangiya, all official invitations for screening or admission are released through national newspapers and the NDA’s official website.
“Members of the public are strongly advised to exercise caution and disregard such fake correspondence,” the statement added, urging prospective candidates to report suspicious documents through the academy’s official communication channels for verification.
The warning, the academy said, is aimed at protecting applicants from scams and reinforcing the importance of relying solely on official NDA sources for admission information.
