LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government orders overnight traffic diversions at key flyovers to install truck barriers aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, confirms the measure will affect both inbound and outbound traffic around Stadium and Ojuelegba flyovers.
The diversion runs between midnight and 5:00 a.m. on March 28–29 and April 4–5.
Motorists travelling from Eko Bridge, Costain and Iponri towards Ojuelegba are redirected via Alaka service lanes, linking the National Stadium and Barracks routes. Alternative routes through Iponri Estate, Bode Thomas, and Adeniran Ogunsanya are also advised.
Osiyemi urges compliance, stating, “Motorists should adhere strictly to designated routes during the exercise.”
The government says the overnight schedule minimises disruption while enabling safe installation of the barriers, part of broader traffic management reforms.
