Lagos CP, Tijani Fatai
LAGOS, Nigeria – The new Lagos Police Commissioner Tijani Fatai pledges an aggressive crackdown on cultism and violent crime across the state.
Speaking in Lagos on Friday, Fatai outlines an intelligence-driven strategy to reduce crime and improve public safety.
“Criminal elements will find no safe haven in Lagos,” he says.
He emphasises visibility policing, discipline on roads and restoring peace in crime hotspots.
Fatai links security to economic growth, noting that safety underpins investor confidence.
He also highlights community policing, urging residents to collaborate with law enforcement. “We will build trust and deepen cooperation,” he says.
The commissioner warns officers against misconduct, stressing accountability and zero tolerance for brutality.
Authorities say inter-agency collaboration and youth engagement will be central to tackling crime.
Residents are urged to remain law-abiding and support police with credible information.
