
LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Police Command has launched a citywide operation to remove street urchins harassing motorists and pedestrians.
Command spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi said on Saturday that the Commissioner of Police has ordered intensified patrols across the state.
“The Command is aware of reports of street urchins attacking motorists. Decisive action is already underway,” Adebisi stated on X.
She added that all tactical units have been directed to increase both foot and vehicular patrols in identified hotspots.
Adebisi urged residents to cooperate with the police by sharing timely and credible information that could help track offenders.
“The safety of Lagosians remains our utmost priority,” she said, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to restoring public confidence and ensuring free traffic flow.
