LAGOS, Nigeria – The Zone ‘A’ Headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with sister agencies and key stakeholders to improve trade facilitation and enhance national security.
The Zonal Coordinator of Zone ‘A’, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Muhammed Babadede, gave the assurance on Friday while receiving delegations from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) in Lagos.
Babadede said stronger institutional partnerships are essential for improving border management and promoting economic development.
According to him, effective collaboration among security agencies and industry stakeholders will enhance transparency in trade processes and support the country’s economic growth.
“Improved collaboration will strengthen border management, ensure transparency in trade procedures, and contribute to national economic development,” he said.
He also reiterated the Customs Service’s commitment to sustained stakeholder engagement and partnership with relevant institutions in achieving national objectives.
Earlier, the Assistant Commander-General of Narcotics in charge of Seaports Operations at the NDLEA, Archie-Abia Ibinabo, commended the Customs leadership for the warm reception.
Ibinabo also reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the Customs Service in tackling narcotics trafficking and related financial crimes at Nigeria’s ports.
