
Members of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association present mosquito nets and bed sheets to Idiroko General Hospital, Ogun State, as part of their CSR initiative
ABUJA, Nigeria – The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Ogun I Command Chapter, has donated mosquito nets and bed sheets to hospitals in Idiroko, Ogun State, to boost patient care and fight malaria.
The association presented 50 bed sheets and dozens of mosquito nets to Idiroko General Hospital and the Customs Medical Centre.
The donation forms part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at improving patient welfare and reducing malaria risk.
Leading the delegation, COWA chairperson Mrs. Fausat Otunla emphasised the group’s commitment to supporting healthcare delivery. “This CSR activity underscores COWA’s compassionate vision and dedication to community welfare,” she said.
Chief Medical Director of Idiroko General Hospital, Dr Kilanko Margaret, commended the gesture, noting that the donation would improve both patient comfort and safety. “We deeply appreciate COWA’s support and pledge to extend medical outreach to its members and families,” she said.
At the Customs Medical Centre, Superintendent of Customs Mr Abdulmalik Zakariyyah described the intervention as impactful.
An expectant mother, Mrs Sodiq Ola, also expressed gratitude: “This donation means a lot for women like us who rely on these facilities.”
The initiative highlights how partnerships between associations and health institutions can address pressing healthcare needs in underserved communities.
