LAGOS, Nigeria – A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of Proxy Lagos Night Club in Victoria Island over allegations that the premises were used to store and distribute controlled drugs.
Justice Musa Kakaki on Wednesday granted the order following an ex parte application by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The agency reported recovering 169 cylinders of Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) and 200 grams of Cannabis Sativa during a midnight raid that resulted in over 200 arrests.
“The premises were used for the storage and sale of controlled substances,” NDLEA counsel Buhari Abdulahi told the court. The agency said the substances were intended for an illegal drug party scheduled at the venue.
The court ruled that the property should remain in government custody pending further investigation. The case was adjourned to 28 January 2026.
