LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Army has arrested Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, alias Gentle de Yahoo, a notorious commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s (IPOB) armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade captured him during a raid in Aku-Ihube, Okigwe, Imo State, recovering weapons, ammunition, military uniforms, and mobile phones.
A workshop allegedly used to dismantle stolen vehicles was also uncovered, with 10 motorcycles destroyed.
“This operation shows our resolve to dismantle IPOB and ESN militants who have terrorised Southeast communities,” a military source said.
