ABUJA, Nigeria – The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) signs a strategic partnership with Informa Markets to expand the International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) and strengthen Africa’s health leadership platforms.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Addis Ababa on Wednesday by Africa CDC Director-General Dr Jean Kaseya and Informa Markets President for Middle East, India, Türkiye and Africa, Peter Hall.
Under the agreement, Africa CDC retains full scientific and strategic leadership of CPHIA, while Informa Markets brings global expertise in organising large-scale international health events.
“This partnership reinforces Africa’s ownership of its public health priorities,” Dr Kaseya says. “CPHIA has become a vital forum for shaping Africa’s health security agenda.”
The collaboration aligns with Africa CDC’s 2023–2027 Strategic Plan, which prioritises health security, sovereignty and Africa-led solutions.
Informa Markets, a FTSE-100 company and organiser of the World Health Expo, says it will leverage its international networks to increase CPHIA’s global visibility.
“Together, we will ensure CPHIA 2026 delivers lasting value for Africa’s public health ecosystem,” Hall says.
