OGUN, Nigeria – The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has completed the final phase of medical screening and distributed travel luggage to intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, in a move aimed at ensuring their readiness for the spiritual journey.
The exercise, held on Tuesday at the Board’s office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, was designed to prepare participants for a safe and seamless trip in line with established guidelines.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Taiwo Ajibola, said the screening was conducted in stages in compliance with directives from Saudi authorities.
He explained that the process was intended “to check the health of the pilgrims and help strengthen their immunity before the trip,” adding that the distribution of luggage would enable them to organise their belongings effectively for the journey.
Ajibola noted that providing the travel kits was a crucial part of pre-departure arrangements, stressing that it reflects the Board’s commitment to the welfare of Ogun State pilgrims.
He added that the exercise underscores efforts to ensure proper preparation and reduce health or logistical challenges, ultimately contributing to a successful and hitch-free Hajj experience in Saudi Arabia.
