LAGOS, Nigeria – The Federal Government disburses ₦2.5 billion to 45 student-led ventures, boosting innovation at a national bootcamp.
The grants are awarded at the 2026 Student Venture Capital Grant Bootcamp held at the UNDP Innovation Hub, following a competitive selection from over 30,000 applicants across 404 institutions.
Minister of Education Maruf Tunji Alausa says beneficiaries can access up to ₦50 million each, alongside mentorship and incubation support.
“This initiative repositions tertiary institutions as centres of innovation and enterprise,” he says, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Minister Bosun Tijani highlights the role of digital innovation in shaping future businesses, while officials commend participants’ resilience.
