ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Government of Nigeria launches a new cohort of National Health Fellows to strengthen leadership and accelerate reforms across the health sector.
At a ceremony in Abuja on Wednesday, Health Minister Muhammad Ali Pate urges participants to lead transformative change.
“You must deploy your skills, innovation, and leadership for national development,” he says.
The initiative, aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, builds a pipeline of reform-driven professionals.
National Coordinator Muntaqa Umar-Sadiq describes the fellows as “a critical investment in human capital.”
The programme, introduced at a national summit earlier in 2026, bridges community influence and policy implementation.
Officials say mentorship and field deployment will translate policy into measurable outcomes at federal and state levels.
The move underscores Nigeria’s push to strengthen healthcare systems through skilled leadership and innovation.
