LAGOS, Nigeria – Emirates Airline has announced the resumption of its Dubai–Lagos–Dubai flight operations after a temporary suspension caused by rising tensions in the Middle East.
The airline confirmed that flights would resume on Friday, March 6, 2026, after monitoring the evolving security situation in the region.
The disruption followed airspace closures across parts of the Middle East after military strikes involving the United States and Israel on Iran, which led several airlines to suspend or reroute flights.
U.S. President Donald Trump had described the strikes as a “major combat operation,” prompting heightened security concerns across the region.
The developments forced many international airlines to adjust their schedules as airspace restrictions affected routes connecting Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia.
Emirates had earlier suspended the route while assessing the impact of the situation on aviation safety.
However, in a message sent to its trade partners in Nigeria, the airline confirmed the resumption of services.
“We will be operating Dubai–Lagos–Dubai flights (EK783 and EK784) on 6th March 2026,” the airline said.
Emirates noted that the resumption provides an opportunity for passengers who had been affected by earlier travel disruptions.
The airline also advised customers to book early due to the expected surge in travel demand.
“Emirates continues to monitor the situation and will develop its operational schedule accordingly. The latest flight updates will be published on our website,” the airline stated.
The earlier disruption followed missile exchanges between Israel and Iran, which prompted Iran and Iraq to temporarily close their airspace, forcing airlines worldwide to cancel or reroute flights.
