LAGOS, Nigeria – The Director-General of the Petroleum Directorate of Sierra Leone, Foday Mansaray, has called for stronger and more sustainable energy collaboration between Sierra Leone and Nigeria to advance regional energy security and industrial growth.
Mansaray made the call on Friday during an official visit to OILDEN Energy in Lagos, where discussions focused on technology transfer, capacity building and investment expansion in the downstream petroleum sector.
He commended the company’s growing operations in Sierra Leone, noting that its presence has contributed to job creation and skills development among local professionals.
Mansaray stressed the importance of deepening intra-African trade and leveraging shared expertise to reduce dependence on imports and promote local value addition within the oil and gas industry.
Responding, OILDEN Energy Managing Director Oluwatoni Oladiran described the engagement as a milestone reflecting deepening regional cooperation and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting industrial self-sufficiency across West Africa.
Stakeholders say the visit signals growing momentum toward enhanced Nigeria–Sierra Leone collaboration in the energy sector.
