MINNA, Nigeria – Nigeria’s National Examinations Council (NECO) and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) have established a 10-member technical committee to enhance collaboration and harmonise operations within the public examination system.
The committee, comprising five representatives from each body, emerged from a high-level meeting between NECO Registrar Dantani Wushishi and NABTEB Registrar Aminu Mohammed at NECO’s Niger State headquarters on Friday.
According to NABTEB spokesperson Uchechukwu Olisah, the committee will develop coordinated operational frameworks and recommend implementation strategies to both organisations.
Mohammed emphasised that sustained cooperation among examination bodies is critical to national development, advocating broader collaboration that includes the West African Examinations Council and the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies.
Wushishi described the initiative as a milestone in strengthening institutional synergy and improving efficiency across Nigeria’s examination landscape.
