Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani
KADUNA, Nigeria – Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani inaugurates newly completed road projects in Makarfi and Zaria, reinforcing his administration’s push to improve connectivity, stimulate economic activity and promote inclusive development.
The governor unveils the projects at separate ceremonies in both local government areas, according to a statement released on Sunday.
In Makarfi, Sani commissions the Durum–Kuruntumawa asphalt road, a project officials describe as transformative for a community that has lacked a standard asphalt road for over a decade.
In Zaria, the governor also opened the Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru and Audi–Kako roads, designed to ease congestion, improve access to markets and strengthen movement across densely populated neighbourhoods.
Speaking at the events, Sani reveals that his administration disburses over ₦1 billion in compensation to property owners affected by demolitions carried out to enable construction of the Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru Road.
“We ensure that infrastructure development does not come at the expense of fairness,” the governor says, thanking residents for their cooperation.
Sani explains that the completed roads form part of a broader state-wide infrastructure programme covering 140 roads spanning approximately 1,335 kilometres.
He notes that years of poor road access had restricted mobility, increased transport costs and limited access to markets, schools and healthcare facilities.
According to the governor, the Durum–Kuruntumawa Road now enhances safety, lowers transportation costs and supports agricultural livelihoods in Makarfi. In Zaria, the new roads improve links between residential areas, schools, hospitals and commercial centres.
Sani reaffirms his commitment to inclusive development, stressing that community welfare remains central to his administration’s infrastructure agenda.
